"A day trip to Balboa Island––Avoiding the scorching sun, I hovered under my beach umbrella with paint and canvas. Using the walkway and cement walls to provide me support for my morning’s work, I began this piece. The little red boat caught my eye in the foreground. In the background, the anchored boats in the bay bobbed up and down with the current. Only the seagull's abrupt song disturbed the stillness. Sunlight, water reflection, boats, and geometric architecture are more than enough to fill the artist's imagination. The morning passed quickly. Final touches were applied in my studio. Can you smell the ocean, feel the breeze, and taste the salt air? These are treasures from the Pacific.”
