“Afternoon Mist”

A continent away from home, this was my very first trip to Europe. I had come here for a double purpose. First, to comfort my sibling. Secondly to heal my heart. Mist felt cool on my skin as I walked with my sister on the grounds of “Schloss Dyck”—a surviving medieval castle in Grefrath, Germany. The stormy clouds above, and the moat reflecting the essence of the day gave me a sense of peace. Hidden from the outside world, the castle stood silently welcoming us both. Together. Sisters.
After all it’s a beautiful world.
