The warm air was filled with music. This September day in 2008, my destination was a cool place filled with visual excitement and the prospect of creating art for the enjoyment of fair-goers. My ears slowed my focus. My head turned. My eyes followed the sound. Three costumed musicians filled the moment with their song. Many mornings I revisited the group on my way to the gallery, absorbing their sound, and sketching their music. Eventually, I recorded their song on canvas––"A Pirates’ Song". Can you hear the music?
