Meet the Artist: B.J. Lane
Based in the artistic village of Fallbrook, California, I’ve spent a lifetime creating art that speaks to the heart. My work is rooted in visual storytelling—capturing emotion, memory, and imagination through bold color, expressive figures, and layered symbolism.
As an artist, my greatest joy comes from uniting people through shared stories and creative experiences. Whether painting on canvas, wood, or—in this case—a piano, my work explores the connective power of the arts to bring light, hope, and meaning.
The Miss Mary piano is one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever taken on. It blends my love of theatrical performance, music, movement, and emotional expression into one living piece of public art.
“This project is more than paint on a piano—it’s a celebration of what brings us together: music, theater, and shared creativity. I believe the arts are what connect us in a divided world, and I’m honored to bring that spirit to life in the heart of Oceanside.”
I invite you to follow along throughout May as I paint, collaborate, reflect, and share the journey behind this joyful and transformative piano project.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog, where I’ll share the full vision behind the Miss Mary design and how it reflects the vibrancy of the Sunshine Brooks Theatre.
With appreciation,
B.J. Lane
