The backstory:
“Pas de duex”. The French term for a dance for two, in ballet this performance is the highlight of the show. Watching a couple as they communicate, share emotions, and support the main theme of the ballet, you can be swept away to younger years and long time lovers.
This piece was inspired by my many visits to the ballet studio as I watched the young dancers learn their steps and body placement. Even now, my own life partner and I continue to learn to dance through the challenges of life.
