The backstory:
Through my artful journey, my family has always been very important to me. Through the years, my work became my Children, and my Children became my Art. Many of my early paintings and sculptures depicted my family and my life as a mother.
The far left piece is my eldest at 2-years-old. Created in 1983, it was my first full-sized sculpture. The book is a separate piece and can be removed from her tiny hands.
The middle sculpture was created in 1984, 6 months after my second daughter was born. This piece is also made with 2 separate parts. The child can be lifted from the car seat.
The last piece on the right was completed in 2007, and depicts my last daughter at 16-years-old.
Each of my daughters has helped me grow, learn, and love more deeply. I am truly blessed.
