You caught my eye.
Oh Beautiful Lady.
Your hat a shade of green.
Your colorful dress
Of red checkered brick
And windows green-white stripes.
What can you tell us
Of days gone by?
Of people and of life?
Can your windows show us
A view from the past?
Can your door open our hearts?
Your history is rich
With treasures so fine.
Share with us your story.
Beautiful Lady of time.

The backstory:
Credit to: OAC Online Archive of California
“The Meridian Iron Works foundry building, 913 Meridian Avenue, is South Pasadena's oldest commercial building, first used as a grocery store in 1887. Restored in 1986 by architect Robert E. Tryon, the building, now South Pasadena Cultural History Landmark #5, houses the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation and South Pasadena Historical Museum.”
This architectural painting was created “en plein air”. Standing in front of my easel on the medium—dividing the right and left lanes of traffic—it must have been a spectacle to observe an artist wildly working her paint on a canvas ... right in the middle of the roadway. The small space was just enough room to allow a pedestrian’s breathtaking view of this beautiful piece of history. A perfect spot to capture history (Her Story). And a painting was born.
