The backstory:
This piece is another rendition of “Lucky” Baldwin’s Queen Ann’s Cottage located at the LA Arboretum. Painted “en plein air” on a summer weekday morning, I found a comfy place under a shady tree to began my study. The world was soundless except for the dripping of water splashing against the fountain. My gloves hands began painting colors and shapes on the canvas. The scene before me began to tell its story. And I listened.
