The Journey continues . . .
She avoids human eye contact. For the camera only her eyes open widely. Looking at the camera lens, this photo reveals my daughter's beautiful eyes. I see my own reflection. It is my own perspective which defines our relationship.
I am the mother––comparing, analyzing, advocating, and desperately searching for answers. I am the mother––the one who knows my daughter best, the one who comforts her, loves her, and wants the best for her. I am the mother––the one who sees the human soul inside the beautiful child.
This is the beautiful child––the one who above all, needs acceptance, compassion, and love.
