The Journey continues . . .
This painting was inspired by Equine Therapy. We were lucky to find a horse vaulting group who included special needs children and adults in their program. The calming effect of horses and nature fit perfectly into our life, and gave us moments of joy together.
Helping our children identify their own strengths, exposing them to opportunities and helping them learn and grow is the primary job of the parent. We all want our children to grow up with self esteem, ambition, and joy ... BUT how do families decide what therapy to pursue and how does it fit into "real life?"
Today, there are many different therapies available, and it takes research and commitment to find and utilize the therapies that are right for you and your child or adult.
Suggestions for parents and caregivers: Talk to your child's doctor, research the web, and get connected with parents support groups. LISTEN TO YOURSELF!
And ... don't forget to SMILE!. Life is a journey. We all get to go for a ride!
