The Backstory:

Several years ago a dear friend of mine found a favorite old photograph she had taken, of her now-grown children. She wanted me to create an oil painting from the photo. Before I finished the first painting, I suddenly felt compelled to start a second study. The second painting is the one my friend purchased.

Not long ago, with digital tools I created a third rendition of these same children. Expressions in sepia colors reminding of days gone. Each rendition has its own special story. And the mother’s heart is filled with joy.

After all, it’s a beautiful life.
