The backstory:
Created “en plein air” this piece was one of a series derived from scenes of Duarte California, my hometown for many years. The quiet backroads were a welcomed relief after a long day of busy streets and freeways. Beside the bike path, old oak trees lined the road. The stop sign begged for me to stop and paint. Finally one day, I listened.
