The backstory:
Inspired by the Fallbrook Vintage Car Show, I picked out these two portraits taken with my Nikon 40D, and began sketching them on canvas with my gloves hands. My conscious mind relaxed. I took in a deep breath. Even in my studio the smell of a summer rain was still in the air. As I began to paint, suddenly the painting took control. Before me stood brilliant hues of sunset and wet reflection—red, orange, green, and blue. The last rays of sunlight sparkled on chrome, and a masterpiece was created.
