I heard a noise. I stepped outside.
The sun, he called to me.
I heard him whisper in my ear.
I’ll tell what he did say.
“Come see the world, I’ve shown my light
Just for you to see.
Behold the beauty. Feel the breeze.
Come out and play with me.”
I listened closely to his voice.
I brought my paints and brush.
I found a spot to sit and look.
I tried hard not to rush.
I stilled my mind. I saw the light.
I painted through the night.

The backstory:
There is nothing like painting outdoors, standing in front of an easel, with loaded brush in hand. Suddenly the environment comes alive as the sun beats down, the wind blows, birds sing their songs, and bugs fly around you looking for a landing spot. It can be an exhilarating experience.
