Today you may be in the stores
Or shopping from your home.
But me, I’m just hanging around
Not looking at my phone.
I’ve walked the road and seen the dips.
The cracked blacktop too.
But what I noticed most of all
Was the sky so blue.
The moon was out, though daylight shone Upon the bumpy ground.
The birds sung songs. Life made me smile
At beauty all around.
Today’s the day most people hunt
For bargains, and discounts
But me, I’m taking inventory
Of what really counts.
