This painting offers the viewer a juxtaposition of past and present. Old Glory flies proudly in the fire station. The antique firetruck brings us back to another time in American history. The modern firetruck reminds us of those who are actively protecting us.
On this 4th of July, I am sharing my story of gratitude. I am grateful for those who protect this country. I am grateful for the diversified people who collaborated to create this place I call home. I am thankful for the women who were also a part of creating independence. I am grateful for my freedom of expression. And, I am grateful to have been born in this country.
