"Balanced atop “Tom”, my youngest daughter developed a special bond with this graceful animal. Horse vaulting (a popular sport popular in Germany) has gained it’s recognition in the States for it’s qualities of sensory integration—a popular therapy utilized by the disabled population to stimulate the senses, and therefore, help the brain mature. The handles on the saddle are used as a point of balance when doing handstands and gymnastic movements atop the horse. Never entering competitions, my daughter did experience standing, riding backwards, and somersaulting “riding high” on this gentle creature.”
